October 2018 is the 10th Anniversary of the THE FIRE

The Fire (2008) — my long awaited sequel to The Eight — is launched thirty years after the events of The Eight, when the bejeweled Black Queen from the Montglane Chess Service shockingly resurfaces in Russia. The children of the previous characters know nothing of the quest of their parents, but are drawn into it nonetheless — and “The Game” is afoot again.

The Fire spent more than SIX MONTHS ON BESTSELLER LISTS around the world, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Rocky Mountain News, and The Indie List. It also spent many months on bestseller lists around Europe, with many weeks as ‘Numero Uno’ in Spain!

Book Tour

My friend, the wonderful Grandmaster Susan Polgar, was a co-host of the official Book Launch party for The Fire in Washington, DC. Here we are (below) standing near a giant chess piece at the entrance to party.

Next is a video following the progress of The Fire book tour through Spain. I was greeted by drummers in the street and queues of waiting Readers beyond anything my publishers and I had ever imagined!

Bookstores all over Spain (including FNAC and Casa del Libro) opened their doors and gave The Fire a warm welcome!
