Splendid Sardine Sandwich
Pumpernickel (or other European black bread)
Canned (in oil) wild sardines
Thinly sliced Vidalia onion
Drizzle some oil from sardines onto one slice of black bread. Layer sardines across slice (if they are thick, halve). Top with onions, tomato, and lettuce; spread mayonnaise on top slice and finish assemblage of sandwich, slice diagonally.
