Living here in Virginia horse country reminds me that, in the eras I like to write about, horses were the chief means of land transportation.
To refresh my memory, I took off for a two hour cross country carriage ride with my wonderful French neighbors and their Belgian ponies, splashing across rivers and through lakes.
We scared up gaggles of Canadian geese, flocks of mallards rising from the lake, but the wild swans were unperturbed by the commotion.

Everyone knows that horses love running in water. I jumped off the carriage long enough to shoot a film of them trotting across a winter creek.
Loved The Eight. Read it 20 years ago, loaned to people who lost it and have spent 18 trying to find a hard copy. I am eager to read the other books you have written. I want to introduce your books to my daughter who is a Classical History major and takes pride in challenging all facts associated with historical references. I was wondering if various historical references are actually factual or simply fictional. Clearly I know my daughter will love your books but I ask out of interest.
Thank you.
Katherine
I love your new website and congratulations on the publishing of your new e-books. If I hadn’t read them already, I’d buy the e-books. At least I can recommend them to others.
What’s new with me is my new author website as I still query agents about The Don’s Wife, but what’s really new is that I’ve started a sequel which I’ve named for now Lady Don. I workshop my writing as I take one of the many online fiction novel classes through the UCLA Writer’s Program which gives me a ready audience of 11 other writers. We have missed seeing you at ThrillerFest. Hoping that you make it this year.
